As difficult as it seems to comprehend, this was the price God required as payment for sin's debt. Jesus died for you and I willingly and as a result, when we accept Him and His substitutionary sacrifice as the personal atoning work for our sentance of death, we can now go free. Because He, Jesus, the sinless and perfect sacrifice paid our debt in full we now can be saved.
